Many Changes

It’s been a while since the last blog.  I had one ready about a month ago, but right before I could publish it, my friend and Fun4Change team-mate Stuart Linfoot, whom in it I was asking for well wishes due to his illness, had passed away.  There is a lot that has happened before that and since, that hasn’t really been mentioned here as it normally would have been.

I suppose with Stuart’s passing, it does change things a bit for what was originally planned.  Naturally I won’t get to still work on the video projects we had set out to do, and I no longer have that humble 45 years of R/C aviation experience to tap into. I’m grateful to all of my aviation friends, and still have plenty to fall back on to pick their brains, but Stuart’s shoes will be hard to fill.

I know that Stuart wouldn’t want his friends and family to be miserable. In fact, that is the exact opposite of the purpose of this site. With that said, I’ll continue to use this corner of the net to do and share fun things, share knowledge, and help to curate spectacular works of art that deserve the recognition.

I’ll try to be brief in updating everything, which didn’t all necessarily happen in this order:

  • Joined Desert Armor Korps, a local RC tank IR battle club, and was able to use the first event to produce and publish the FPV tank projects previously mentioned.
  • Did a photo-shoot yet to be published of the Military Vehicle Show in Arizona. (So there will now be a double feature of museum photo galleries coming soon, when I’m not sure yet).
  • Started a new group focused on military radio controlled semi-trucks meant to haul tanks. So far it has flourished, so that’s good.
  • Finally linked together all of the communities I’ve been building over the years under one umbrella to simplify things for myself. By linking them together, I can set one simple rules list for everything through Fun4Change. With thousands of members across these various clubs, this makes things easier for me, and I can flesh out each group better over time.
  • Debuted the Featured Artist segment for Fun4Change. This is a prestigious title, with the artist being featured on the front page of the site for the month of their award.  Winners become Fun4Change dignitaries, eventually helping to select future nominees, and vote for the winners.
  • The first Featured Artists, Doug Coffey, Stuart Linfoot, and Bob Allen, accept their nominations for Featured Artist.
  • Did the first interview with Mr. Coffey for the new segment, and am wrapping up the next interview with Mr. Allen.
  • Stuart then passed away, and had to be awarded the Featured Artist segment posthumously.

So there’s been quite a bit going on to say the least.
