Tanks, Musicians, and Mechanics

For those of you who’ve been diligently paying attention, then you’ll already know that the scope of what the Fun4Change spectrum covers is fairly broad.  For the initial recipients of the Featured Artist Award (which we have taken a break from for the summer as you may have noticed), we have admittedly focused initially only on art forms that specifically require physical crafting skills and materials for the final product to be achieved.  You may recall that we’ve mentioned that digital media and other art forms are going to be covered here as well, so after our next segment, you’ll likely see a drastic change in genre… but don’t be alarmed, as we are not abandoning coherence, and significant achievement in one’s craft will always be a prerequisite for this award.  On the note of coherence, every art form you see here can and already may play a collective part in bigger projects.  The R/C tanks for example, are not just for show, but serve as serious film props when scale and weathering is done right, as well serving as functioning game pieces for regular club events.  Also, when someone wins the award, if they represent an entity, club, or group, their team is also the collective winners as well, usually being presented in the material.

Change is in the name though, as we know it is inevitable.  We personally love being artists, and love every art form we tackle, but being an artist is most certainly a difficult trade to ply.   When we see that an artist has gone to great lengths to reach their goals, we personally want to see them rewarded for those efforts.  While those rewards may not be directly lucrative, they can be indirectly via extra exposure if said artist has a product ready, not to mention the prestige, laurels, and other bells and whistles that accompany the title of Fun4Change Dignitary.  So in our quest to cultivate fine-art and history, the next art form we may tackle here is music… arguably one of the most difficult art forms to succeed in.

Media projects quite often require music to help set the tone of a particular theme. It might not happen right away that we do in fact choose to nominate a musician for the Featured Artist Award.

So when I’m not tending my baby, the standard trade that I ply is auto repair. Well, and I help to orchestrate Fun4Change too, which does act as a second job to a certain extent, in regard to the amount of effort it takes to keep it all together. But I thought it was cool that it might be a mechanic interviewing a musician.  Just a fun dynamic that I think, if it all works out, should prove to be interesting.

– Our planned film series has to be canceled at this point.  We’ve had a camera failure, and the last piece is currently trapped in it.  We will rescue the data, but we’re going to have to conclude the series with at the most maybe three episodes, at least until other projects have been concluded and we can focus on equipment.  The standard videos that accompany the Featured Artist segment will continue as scheduled, since they only required editing software, so our channels will not sit derelict without content.  We like sharing with you how we accomplish certain things, and there were a lot of requests for guidance on our FPV cockpit project which we have not forgotten, so that will definitely be included in the last of the mini-series.

-Our next Featured Artist takes things to a level of tiny that might have you doing a double take.  Imagine a shopping cart no bigger than a grain a of rice, and you’ll have an idea of the near molecular scale we can anticipate in August.  His success of course is on par with the level of achievement we expect for this award, and as such, you know you’ll have plenty to feast your eyes upon.

-Last but not least, the Tank Club Growth Project.  If I’m not mistaken, so far we have helped to start at least seven clubs just in the US alone, and we want to give you guys who stepped forward and had the gumption to get it done a huge a shout out.  Now if you have been hearing about this and wondering if it was going to actually happen, well as recently promised, it is here.  The project is broken up into three phases, which are summarized on the project page.

Finally, to our online community leaders of the various F4C communities, thank you for helping to keep things in order and running smooth!  You guys rock, not just because of your positive attitudes, but because you are talented artists as well.

If you are new to the Fun4Change community, then you have our warm welcome!
